Richard Shane Cameron It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Shane Cameron, age 43 of Egerton. Shane passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, Wednesday August 16, at the Aberdeen Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Truro he was a son of Richard and Ina(MacKenzie)Cameron. He was well known for his free and adventurous spirit and his many outdoors excursions. Whether it was 4 wheeling, camping, boating, ski-doing, or his many trips to the camp. He was loved by his many friends and co-workers at Burnrich Trucking where he was employed and a co-owner for many years. Shane was always there to lend a helping hand he was known to be quite the character at times but will be remembered for his kind and generous heart. Shane is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Marla (Robertson), two precious daughters Abigail and Mya, as well as fur baby "Diesel". He is also survived by his parents Richard and Ina; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Bradley "Betty" Cameron, brothers Ashley (Janet) and Matthew (Karen). Other family members include uncles, aunts: Lawrence (Marlene) Cameron; Philip (Barb) Cameron; Gayle (Blair) Crooks; Gary (Lois) MacKenzie; Dougie (Melinda) MacKenzie; Valerie White (Ed) and cousins Kimberley, Brad, Adrian, Aaron, Tyler, Gary and Sherri-Lynn. Shane was pre-deceased by grandparents Barry "Bunny" Cameron and Frampton and Louise MacKenzie; as well as mother and father in-law Marjorie (Betts) and Donald Robertson. His remains will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday from the Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn with Rev. Jeff Lackie presiding. Burial will take place in the Murray’s Point Cemetery, Merigomish. A reception will follow the burial at the Union Presbyterian Church Hall, Thorburn. Donations in memory of Shane may be made to the Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation or to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
