Allison Grant MacCulloch August 7th, 1930 – August 5th, 2017 Of Plymouth, formerly of Meiklefield and Blue Mountain passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital with his family by his side following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A man of many talents, he worked from an early age in the woods, sawmills, mines and retired from working for many years with C.N. Railways. He took great pride in being a member of Hudson Lodge #77 Thorburn for 65 years, receiving the meritorious service medal. Active in the Kirk Church as a manger and Elder, having also been a Boy Scout Leader with great enjoyment sharing his love of the outdoors and woods and was so proud of their accomplishments. An avid snowmobiler and 4 wheeler, he made treasured friends as they explored trails and enjoyed meals together. Over fifty years at the cottage (Eden Lake), the water activities were shared with many as they tried and mostly achieved water -skiing skills. Known for his story telling, knowledge of the county side and interest in genealogy, he was extremely proud of his sawmill and camp in Meiklefield which made his retirement years very enjoyable. A devoted husband to his wife Mae (Meikle) with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. A proud father to daughters: Margie (Gregory) MacDonald and Crystal (John) Cameron and son Drew (Jennifer) MacCulloch. Grampie to his grandchildren Tyler, Jacqueline, Amber, Nicholas, Riley, Nathanial, Abigail and Hannah and nine great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his sister Amy (Mort) Stewart of Canning, sisters -in-law Jean Gutteridge of Bermuda and Annie MacCulloch of Riverton, brother -in-law Calder Livingston of Thorburn. He was predeceased by a son James Hector, his parents Jack and Anna MacCulloch, brothers; Daniel and Jim, sisters Mary Ross, Annie Cameron and Edith Livingston. His remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home 256 King St., New Glasgow for visitation from 2-4 &7-9 P.M. on Tuesday. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 P.M. from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. J. Kenneth MacLeod officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Allison may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital, the Blue Mountain Cemetery or to a charity of one’s choice. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
