Obituary of Agnes Johnston

Agnes Scott Fraser Johnston passed away on Saturday April 29th ,2017 in her 97th year in the Aberdeen Hospital with Christine by her side.
Born in MacLellan’s Brook she was a daughter of the late Lyons and Agnes (Dawson) Fraser.
Agnes taught school for many years throughout Pictou East. She was a member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church ,MacLennan’s Mtn. and long time organist ,Sunday School teacher and church treasurer .
She was a life member of the Atlantic Missionary Society , the Women’s Institute ,Red Cross and the Retired Teachers Association.
Agnes is survived by a daughter Christine (Calvin) Mason of The Ponds
Sons: Scott (Corinne) of Springville
Rev. Grant of Brampton ,Ont.
Ian of Regina , Sask.
Daughter-in-law Jeannie Johnston of New Glasgow
A sister Marion Gower of Wentworth
10 grandchildren , 11 great grandchildren
many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Garfield Johnston , a son Murray , daughter-in-law Sheila ,sisters Jean Fraser and Marjorie Fraser in childhood
Brothers-in –law Jim Fraser and Bernard Gower
Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Thursday in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home 256 King Street ,New Glasgow from where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 A.M. with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.
Burial will be in the Castle Hill Cemetery.
Family flowers only please.
Donations in memory of Agnes may be made to St. John’s Presbyterian Church , MacLennan’s Mtn., Atlantic Missionary Society ,Castle Hill Cemetery, Camp Geddie or to a charity of your choice.
