Obituary of George Henderson

George "David" Henderson age 74, of Birch Hill Drive, Stellarton passed away on April 18, 2017.
Born in Sydney, NS on May 2, 1942 he was a son of the late George and Katherine (Richardson) Henderson.
Dave was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Stellarton, also a life member of the New Glasgow Kinsmen Club, K-40 Club, Past President of the Abercrombie Golf and Country Club, Past President of the Nova Scotia Golf Association.
Dave was a long-time employee of Atlantic Insurance in New Glasgow, having started working there in 1978.
He is survived by his wife Isabelle, Stellarton; daughters Renee’ (Pascal) Beland, Stellarton; Monique (Rob) Sobey, Stellarton; grandchildren Danielle, Gabryelle and Jacob Beland; Jane and Matthew Sobey; brother John (Carol) Henderson, Ontario; sisters Sandra (Frank) Dunn, Sydney; Jane (Dean) Murray, Ontario; sister-in-law Leslie (Randy) MacEachern; several nieces and nephews.
Dave was predeceased by his first wife Georgette Robichaud.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 22 in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Wanda Hasegawa of the QE II Halifax, Dr. Gerry Farrell, the Palliative Care nurses and the Aberdeen Hospital Oncology Department.
