Obituary of Dell Frederick Murray
Please share a memory of Dell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dell Frederick Murray age 66 of Glen Haven Manor formerly of Twin Rivers Trailer Court passed away April 1, 2017 in the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow with beloved family by his side.
Born in Thorburn on August 28, 1950 he was the youngest son of the late Freddie and Catherine (Sutherland) Murray.
Prior to a longterm stay at Glen Haven, Dell worked in the forestry industry for many years, until his back gave him no option but to retire and become a 100% devoted, loving, loyal, hardworking (no matter his condition) husband to Lottie (Bonvie) and bring up their three beautiful children , Lisa (Dan) Cock, Scotsburn; April Murray (Chris Matheson), New Glasgow; Dell Boy Murray (Courtney MacEwan), Westville, in the Village of Sunny Brae; half-brother Fred Campbell, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law Joyce Murray, Thorburn; Freda Smith (Bill), Truro; Margaret Kirk, Coalburn; Nellie (George) Brennan, Pine Tree; Mabel (Ricky) Cameron, Plymouth; Hilda (Donnie) MacNeil, Pine Tree, Helen Bonvie, Stellarton; and many nieces and nephews that he treasured.
A man of many passions, not a week-end or evening would go by when you couldn’t drop by the house and Dell would have a guitar (sp) in hand and singing many songs from his hand-written book. The foot would be tapping and his dog by his feet.
Fishing, hunting not only for his family but for his many elderly friends that enjoyed the bounty. A smile was more than enough for a thank-you.
No matter what day he was having, a smile would come and his cheer would do a complete 360 with his only grandson Aadan (son of Lisa and Dan), the sun rose and set with their special memories.
Predeceased by his brother Donald Murray, sister-in-law Doris (Alan) Harnish.
These last few years would not be possible without the staff of Glen Haven Manor, where Dell received the best possible care in his declining years of Alzheimer’s. Forever Thankful!!!
