Helen Ann Holmes age 61 of Jerry Lane, Westville passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at home. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late James B. and Pearl (Stubbert) MacBeth. Helen lived in New Brunswick in her younger years where she worked as a hairdresser and later as a chef. After returning to Pictou County she owned and operated the Dine and Dash Restaurant in Trenton until 2008 when she retired due to health conditions. She is survived by her husband Lionel, Westville; son Bradley Holmes (Melissa MacIvor), Edmonton; 2 granddaughters who were her pride and joy; Chloe MacIvor and Isla Holmes; brother Phillip (Joanne) MacBeth, Shortts Lake, NS; sisters Donna MacDonald, Westville; Rhonda (Paul) McLean, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law Barbara (Dennis) Payne, Westboro, Mass.; Myla MacDonald, Stellarton; brothers-in law Steve Holmes, Greenfield, NS; Leslie (Brenda) Holmes, Westville; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm on Saturday in the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Family flowers only.
