Ruth Viola Anderson age 88 of Bruce St., Trenton passed away Feb. 8, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Hamilton, Ontario she was a daughter of the late Fred and Nellie (Gray) Major. Ruth had been a resident of Trenton most of her life. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Stellarton. Ruth enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Bates, Trenton; grandchildren Samuel Bates (Sherry MacEachern Bates), Bridgewater; Stacy Bates Sanford, Trenton; Jeffery Bates (Sarah Hutchinson), Dartmouth; great-grandchildren Colin and Ryann Bates; sister Faith Penny, Toronto; several nieces and nephews and her special cat friends Honey, Little Kitten and Sissy. She was predeceased by her husband Olsen Andrew Anderson, son Olsen Roy Anderson brothers Wilfred, Donald and Claude Major. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Vincent Hanley officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Diabetes Association, the SPCA or a charity of your choice. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
