Duncan Raeburn "Rae" Kennedy age 91, of Abercrombie passed away Feb. 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville he was a son of the late Duncan C. and Cora (Salter) Kennedy. Rae was a long-time resident of Abercrombie where he operated a dairy farm and later a beef farm. He also owned and operated a school bus and had a mail route. Rae later went to work as a clerk for Canada Post from where he retired. He was a member of Trinity United Church in New Glasgow. He is survived by his wife the former Elizabeth Ann MacDonald, Abercrombie; children Lynn (Bonita) Kennedy, Hardwood Hill; Leslie Kennedy (Colleen), Abercrombie; Lorna Kennedy (Brennen), Abercrombie; Sheldon (Sandi) Kennedy, Lyons Brook; grandchildren Jefferey, Gina, Lydia and Joseph. Rae was predeceased by brothers Henry (England), Gerald (New Glasgow) and a sister Clara (Halifax). Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Rae may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
