Frederick Leon Rector age 70, of Westville, formerly of Stellarton passed away suddenly on January 15, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Petigrew Settlement, Cumberland County, NS he was a son of Robert and Louise (MacCulley) Rector. Fred worked in the coal mines in his younger years and later worked at a fish plant in Disable, PEI and with Gill Construction in PEI. He is survived by a son Jason Rector (Joanne), Belfast, PEI; daughter Juanita Bezanson (Shawn), New Glasgow; grandchildren Katie, Halifax, Tylor (Mandy), Kelly (Robert), Amanda (Josh), Chyanne, all of New Glasgow, Curtis and Bree, PEI; 3 great grandchildren Destiny, Brent, and Jasper; brother Charlie, sister Darlene; companion Ann Jack; several step children, step grandchildren and half brothers and sisters. He was predeceased by sisters Shirley and Doreen and his wife Emma Rector Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in the Thorburn Cemetery.
