November 20, 2016. MacLean, June Elizabeth, 83 of Bridgeville passed away Friday November 18, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Caledonia she was a daughter of the late Ole and Alice(Ross)Nelson. June was employed at the East Side Family Restaurant for many years where she enjoyed cooking and baking delicious food for all who came by. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to raising not only her own five children but any child who passed through her home. The door to her home was always open, and upon entering you would always be offered a delicious meal or some yummy baked goods. She is survived by her children: Albert MacLean(Jill), George MacLean(Marion), Cathy Reid(Kim), Darlene MacLean, Robbie MacLean(Carolyn), 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters, Jessie MacDonald, Marg Morrison and a brother Donnie Nelson. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth MacLean, brothers Calvin and Albert Nelson. Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 11am-2pm Tuesday from where funeral services will be held at 2pm with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson presiding. Burial will take place at the Bridgeville Cemetery. Donations in memory of June may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia, the CNIB or to the Pictou County Food bank. At this time the family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Emergency Room and Palliative Care Unit for the care and compassion shown to both them and their mother June. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
