Obituary of James Langille

Hopewell : James Donald Langille age 80 of the Glen Haven Manor ,New Glasgow and formerly of Hopewell ,Pictou County passed away on Tuesday October 4th ,2016 in the manor. Born in Berwick he was a son of the late Frank and Jean (Dennison) Langille. Jim was a resident of Hopewell for 40 years. He was a graduate of Acadia University and was a geologist employed with the Dept of Natural Resources. Jim was a member of Christ Anglican Church where he served as a senior church Warden and was on the Parish Council . He was also a member of the choir and the Anglican Men’s Choir He was a member of the Union IOOF Lodge #30 Springville having received his 35 year pin in June. Jim was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Wawbeek Encampment and Canton , and past treasurer of the Oddfellows Home Board of Directors. He was a former member of the Caledonia Oddfellows Lodge ,Hopewell Jim enjoyed volunteering , gardening and collecting rocks. Surviving are daughters : Crystal (Boyd) MacEachern of Stratford ,P.E.I Audrey Jean Connell of Hammonds Plains Grandchildren : Lachlan , Lauren ,William and Makayla Sisters-in-law : Ethel Langille of Kingston , N.S. Aggie Langille of Windsor ,N.S. Lee (Murray) Betts of Weymouth Brother-in-law Gerry (Linda) Williams of Dartmouth A number of nieces and nephews Jim was predeceased by his wife the former Carol Williams Brothers: Eugene and George Son-in-law Jason Connell The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. on Sunday in the H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel ,Stellarton. The IOOF Union Lodge #30 Springville will conduct their service on Sunday at 6:30 at the funeral home. Funeral service will take place on Monday at 11 A.M. from Christ Anglican Church with Rev. Darlene Jewers and Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in the Christ Church Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Arthritis Society or to Christ Church Memorial Fund.
