Charles Robert "Bob" DeMone age 94 of the Northumberland Veterans unit in Pictou, formerly of Riverton passed away Sept. 16. 2016 in the Veterans Unit. Born in Stellarton he was a son of the late Basil A. and Ruth (Tedford) DeMone.
He is survived by his wife the former Enid Mumford, Shiretown Nursing Home; son Robert Basil (Linda); daughters Barbara Diane (Arthur) Burton; Sharon (Bill) Gardner; step daughter Barbara (Reginald) Foote; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers George and Clyde.
He was predeceased by his first wife Rita and sister Olive.
The family will receive friends from 2- 3 pm on Sunday Sept. 18, 2016 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in his memory may be made to The Veterans Comfort/Bus Fund C/O: Northumberland Veterans Unit P.O. Box 1059 Pictou, NS B0K 1H0.
