Rankin, James Allan "Bud", 80 of Eureka, Pictou County passed away June 27, 2016 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Nova Scotia he was a son of the late Alvin and Sylvia(Cottie)Rankin.
Bud was a resident of Eureka for most of his life. He served in the RCAF for some 25 years having served in Winnipeg, Prince Edward Island and Europe. He later went on to work at the former Trenton Works for a number of years, and worked as a bartender at the City Club in New Glasgow. He was a member of the Air Force Club in Stellarton.
He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Montreal Canadian fan
He is survived by sons Gordon, Dartmouth; Mike(Susan), Westville; a daughter Stacey(Garnet)Fleming, Thorburn; special Grampie and Papa to his 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, a brother Gordon(Carol), Westfield, NB; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary Theresa Rankin, sisters, Shirley and Joanie in infancy, brothers Rollie and Alden.
Cremation to take place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton from where a memorial service will be held 11am Thursday with Rev. Jim Shaffner presiding . Burial of ashes will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Cemetery, Stellarton.
Donations in memory of Bud may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the the Aberdeen Hospital ICU.
