Obituary of Roy Cameron

New Glasgow ; Roy Allen Cameron age 56 of New Glasgow and formerly of Caledonia and Island East River passed away after a short battle with cancer on May 5th,2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital ,surrounded by his family. Roy was happiest with family , friends and his loyal companion Babe. He enjoyed fishing , camping , road trips and being on the water . Roy worked in the forestry industry for most of his life in various trades , mainly trucking. He worked all across Canada even in the Arctic. Roy was a volunteer with the Eureka Fire Dept. for several years. Surviving are his wife the former Donna (Jack) Mother Ruth Cameron Daughter ; Samantha (Matthew)Thompson of Clayton Park Son ;Clayton of New Glasgow Granddaughters : Goldie and Kassidi Brothers: Edward (Linda) of Stellarton Arnie (Debbie) of Hopewell Alvin of Durham, Sisters: Debbie (Melvin) Cruickshank of Caledonia Donna(Robert) Douglas of New Glasgow Several nieces and nephews Roy was predeceased by his father John Cameron , father-in-law Donald Jack and niece Victoria Hart The family will receive visitors from 2-4 &7-9 P.M. on Saturday May 14th in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home. There will be no funeral by request. A public graveside service will be held on Sunday at 3 P.M. in the MacleanCemetery , Hopewell with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Please dress in blue jeans attire for the graveside service . No flowers by request please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the AberdeenHospital or to the MacLeanCemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service in the Eureka Fire Hall.
