MacDonald, Mary Annabelle "Marie", 88 of New Glasgow passed away January 24, 2016 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in King’s Head, PictouCounty she was a daughter of the late John David and Mary(Austin)Muirhead.
Marie was a resident of New Glasgow for most of her life where she graduated from the Aberdeen School of Nursing in the class of 1948, having went on to work as a Private Duty Nurse. She was an adherent of the First Presbyterian Church in New Glasgow.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Jean(Edward)Richard, Sherwood Park, Alberta; Valerie Ann(Chris)Conlon, Dartmouth; a son John David(Mary), Ottawa; 4 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred MacDonald, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Cremation to take place.
There will be no visitation or memorial services by request. A public graveside committal service will be held at MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the CNIB or to the Aberdeen Hospital Foundation.
