Dear Bob,Christina, George, Spyro and families,
A Friday or Saturday night just wasn’t the same if you missed going to see Alice and having one of the best pizzas in the world! She loved to have people standing around in the front shop as everyone mingled and told stories as we waited for our pizza to come out of the oven. Alice always had an ear to ear smile on her face and she gave some of the greatest hugs when she greeted you with “Ti Kaneis”. Some of my fondest memories revolve around eating one of Alice’s pizzas with friends and family on a weekend night and waking up the next morning to have a cold slice of pizza which was just as good as the night before. It still is one of my greatest sources of homesickness is not being able to have one of your mom’s pizzas anytime I crave one.
I truly hope that you all can take comfort and solace in knowing that your wife and mom touched so many lives during her lifetime and she was truly loved by all who had the pleasure to step through her door and meet her.
Blessings to all of you during your time of sorrow and stay strong with each other.
Regards
Ross & Marie MacIsaac

Dear Bob,Christina,Spyro,and George:
Evelyn and I are deeply saddened by Alice's recent passing and send along our most heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you and all your families.
For over more than 50 years Alice and the Xiros and Kouyas family have been part of our lives..and in many more ways than enjoying the 'best pizza anywhere' that she served up at your Washington St. Shop..which was so much more than that with Alice making it come alive when you came in to pick up your 'be ready in 15 minutes pizza" it always was ready, don't know how she and Bob managed to stay on schedule but she made it happen! Some may wonder how picking up a 'take out Pizza' could be a Social Event which it always was,and even on occasion a celebration when a little Ouzo was toasted to friendship and good health. The memories are many and cherished and will always remain so..there will never be another 'Alice',she was a 'one of a kind' and loved by everyone and known as the 'Queen of Pizza' and served hundreds of thousands of delicious pizza orders to all corners of the globe from her and Bob's little shop on Washington Street..from Hong Kong to Australia and the far North and all of Canada for absent Pictonians who longed for Alice's pizzas and they were shipped to them with her love and special attention to every order!Pictou County Pizza reputation traces its origins to the Kouyas and Xiros family who as 'adopted Pictonians' served to put Pictou County and Nova Scotia on the 'Map',,to all those whose lives she touched ourselves among them she has a very special place in our 'Memory Chest'...our hearts ♥️ go out to all of you as you honor and celebrate A Life well lived and Enjoyed serving her customers!we all are happy she decided to come To Pictou County as her adopted homeland!
With love and sympathy to all
Sincerely,
Jack and Evelyn MacIsaac

We are very sorry for your loss. Alice was an important part of Pictou County. She made the best pizza in the world. We used to buy uncooked ones to freeze so we could still enjoy them after we moved away. Travelling, you could never find one as delicious. Alice was a very kind person, may God bless her and keep her.
With sincere sympathy,
John & Darlene

I have known Alice since she first came here as I was around 12 years old . I helped her and even babysit her Sweet Daughter Christina. when she changed her store to making Pizzas and as I got older my Family and I always got her pizzas. She had the best pizzas anywhere. I just lived a few houses from her and seen her often . Alice was such a loving Lady and I had seen her give people food and sometimes money to help them. I am having a hard time accepting she is gone, Alice I will always love and miss u .You fought your battle and never complained much but God seen you were getting so tired I guess so he took u home to Rest now.. Condolences to Bob and Family as u lost A beautiful caring Wife and Mother and Grandmother. I will never forget u Alice The Queen of Pizzas. xoxo My Ole Friend

I had the pleasure of meeting Alice one day a few years ago and got to spend a few hours with her, she told me all her life stories and even gave me a picture of her in her younger years. I’m pretty sure it was taken in Montreal, her standing holding her bike in front of a storefront. . I was so impressed by her, I took the picture and put it on my big mirror in my bedroom and it is there to this day. She was an inspiration and I treasure that picture she shared with me. To her family, I am sorry for your loss, she was a special lady.

Ray and I, and the whole Sparks family send our condolences to Alice’s family. She was a part of our lives for so many years, starting with Ray as a boy going to get candy at her store, followed later by the pizza. Every Friday night for 30 years we visited Nana Sparks and got “Alice’s”. Those are very cherished memories. Thank you, Alice and family.

Such a sad moment and loss of a treasure to New Glasgow! Alice's Pizza was hands down one of the best places to go after dances rink, the Ward 1 or even earlier at that spot by the bridge - wow so long ago!! Christina and family, the days ahead will be emotional and you will be sad, but sit together and remember the good times that you had with your mom, she will live on forever in each one of you. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

We were sadden to learn of Alice's passing, and send our deepest Sympathy and Prayers to Chris, Bob, George, Spyro and families.
Alice will be remembered as a strong, loving, light hearted woman... who shared great stories, that taught the importance of love of family, and always left us in stitches with laughter! Alice was a regular at the YM-YWCA aquafit classes, where she lit-up the room (and/or) pool deck, when she entered with her best buddy-Irene. Alice would often bring us "good music" cassettes she had made to play, and she was not shy to teach us all a few new dance moves pool side... so many wonderful "Alice" memories! Blessing sent to you all, and may you draw strength from each other as you Celebrate Alice's life. Alice will be remembered warmly, as a wonderful, and kind woman. God Bless - Gail, Clinton Jewell and family.
