Larry Allan MacDonald

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Allan MacDonald, age 66, of Merigomish, who passed away on August 5, 2026, in the Palliative Care Unit of Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in New Glasgow, Larry was the son of the late Neil and Joyce MacDonald.

Larry enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved fishing, playing crib, listening to music, camping, and spending time outdoors. He served 3 years in the Canadian Militia and was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Westville Branch 35.

Larry will be remembered by his brother, Randy; his sister, Rhonda (Mike); and his nephew, Matthew (Andrea).

Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his stepmother, Phyllis, and his stepfather, Sandy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Murray's Point Cemetery, Merigomish.

Donations in Larry's memory may be made to the Master's Hand Ministry.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Aberdeen Hospital for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Larry during his final days.
