Heather Ann Mills Obituary
Heather Ann Mills, 39, of Pictou Landing First Nation, sadly passed away on July 23, 2026.
Heather loved waterfalls and visited as many lighthouses as she could. Heather had a kind heart and a smile that could light up any room. She made many friends all over, and had a laugh that could be heard across the racetrack where she spent many hours with her best friend Elaine. Heather had a special bond with Finn her dog.
Heather attended NSCC's Adult Learning Program where she learned about her passion for helping others which helped her fall into her role as Economic Development Officer for Pictou Landing, where she spent many hours collaborating with her “work wife” Heather Head-McDonald She was a strong advocate for lifelong learning and fought to bring as much as she can for the community of Pictou Landing.
Heather is survived by her Father Vernon Mills of Pictou Landing, Common law partner, Joey Livingstone of Pictou Landing, Sons Trevor Mills of Pictou Landing, Nathan Mills of Pictou Landing, Brady Mills of Pictou Landing, Owen Cooke of Pictou Landing. Sisters Marsha Mills (Kevin) of Irish Mountain, Jennifer Nicholas (Anthony) of Pictou Landing, Veronica Mills (Cory) of Pictou Landing, Katilyn Chisholm (Allan) of Pictou Landing, Brothers Joseph Mills (Evangeline), chosen brothers Robert Francis (Cathy) of Pictou Landing, Derek Francis (Pamela) of Pictou Landing, as well as several nieces and nephews. Heather had several god children, Lindon Bernard of We’koqma’q, Andy Enriquez Jr of Pictou Landing, Sierra Nicholas of Pictou Landing, and Emmet Hape of Mount William, and chosen sister Mary Ann Francis of Pictou Landing.
Heather is predeceased by her mother, Loretta Mills of Pictou Landing, best friend, Lisa Toney of We’koqma’q, and great niece, Myla Julian of We’koqma’q, and chosen family Robert and Mary Francis of Pictou Landing.
Visitation will be held at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home on Monday, August 3rd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Her remains will rest at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Pictou Landing from 11am Tuesday, August 4th, until the time of the funeral mass on Wednesday, August 5th at 11am. Burial will take place in the Parish cemetery.
