Ronald Frederick Frazee Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Ronald Frederick Frazee, announce his passing after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ron was a loving father, papa, and great-papa who enjoyed time with his family more than anything.

Born and raised in Trenton NS, Ron worked at Trenton Works/Hawker Siddeley for 43 years until retiring in 2005. In his retirement, Ron enjoyed spending time with his sons and daughters and their families, working on projects both at home and in the Annapolis Valley, taking seasonal trips to his camp in Giants Lake with his sons and best friends David MacGregor and John MacDonald where many stories were told!  He loved Sunday Dinners with daughter Susan and son Dan, and tending to his garden in direct competition with daughter Nancy for the best harvest. Visits from cousin Bernard Sweeney were always a joy for Ron.  He loved all animals, especially dogs!  He opened his home and heart to foster and to dog sit for all of his Grand-dogs. Taking care of livestock at Scott's Farm and Nancy's Ranch while away was also one of his favorite pastimes.

Ron could always be counted on to provide assistance and guidance (especially guidance) on any project, while keeping us all laughing with his quick wit, sense of humor, and classic one liners. After the work was complete, he enjoyed sharing a good meal surrounded with his family at either his house or theirs.  He was an excellent cook!  After dinner, Coronation Street received his undivided attention with his beloved iPad on his lap with a good cup of tea.

Dad loved country Music.  His favorite, Merle Haggard! Dad fulfilled his lifelong dream after seeing him in concert with sons Dan, Scott and Ted. Passionate about classic cars, every summer he would attend various car shows where he enjoyed talking to the owners while bragging about his own son's cars. He loved to be outdoors, hunting and fishing at the camp with the kids and lifelong friends, Dave and John. They would tell stories, maybe the odd lie, listen to music, have a good feed, fish, hunt, and ride the woods on their 4-wheelers then end the day relaxing by the fire with a cold can of 0.5 beer!

He will be greatly missed by the staff of Giant Tiger where he shopped weekly, cracking jokes with the staff as he picked up the weekly flyer specials. Special Thanks to the Valley Girls, with who he loved to trade off soap and candy for preserves and maple syrup, and then getting together with their families where he was treated like one of their own.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Isaac, daughters Rhonda and Tammy, former wife and mother of his children Betty Riggs, brother-in-law Harold Boone, daughter-in-law Helen McNaughton, and best friend Buddy MacKay.  He is survived by sons Danny, Scott (Sandi), Ted (Susan B), daughters Nancy (Rob) and Susan (Tom), sister Myrna Boone, grandchildren Lacie, Cody, Lane, and Jesse, and great grandchildren Beau, Boone and Brooks.

Special Thanks to Drs. Barclay, O'Sullivan, Morgan, Bell and Kokoravic, his pharmacist Anne-Marie Kember, and the Caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Victoria General Hospital.

A Celebration of Rons life will be held on the 12th of September, at the McPhersons Mills Community Hall from 12-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's Honor to the SPCA and Hope for Wildlife.
