Argio Raimondi Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Argio Raimondi on June 21, 2026.
Argio was born in the city of Piacenza, Italy, where he lived until he was 21. He began a career in textiles at the age of 14 and was presented with the opportunity to come to Canada for what was planned to be a two year contract in the textile business He loved it so much he and his wife Elda stayed.
He helped run a sweater making shop (Rare Knits) in Stellarton for many years while also working full time at Michelin tire for 35 years
Argio loved all things sports and was eager to learn, teaching himself English through TV commercials and WW2 books, being born during WW2, he knew the stories.
Argio adored people, and could and would chat to all. He loved coffee at McDonalds and A&W, and all the friends he made within those encounters
He had a huge kind heart and a charisma that finds few.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him; Brothers Raimondo and Tarcisio, sisters Anna Maria, Lazzarina, and Francesca; honorary grandson Draven MacDonald; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Argio is predeceased by his wife Elda; parents Severino and Maria Raimondi; and his sister Giuliana.
Cremation will take place, and there will be no service at this time.
