Carol Nugent was a loved and loving mother, grandmother, sibling and friend to many. Born in New Glasgow on Jan. 4, 1951, to parents Harry and Eunice (Thompson) Snell.

Carol spent 33 years with her second husband Art Nugent, until his passing in 2017. Carol and Art reunited in heaven on the morning of Friday, May 29, 2026.

Carol’s pride and joy were her children Greg (Jen), Chad and Jackie; along with her grandchildren, Jesse, Ben (Hannah), Brad, Mya and Ayden. She was predeceased by her infant brother Joseph Brent, her first husband and father of her children Steve Hale, second husband Art Nugent and a daughter-in-law Bonnie. She leaves behind her siblings Barry (Cheryl), Donnie (Charmaine), Susan, Lynn (Billy), David, Wendy (Bobby), & Randy.

She was a proud resident of Stellarton, NS for many years. Her home was not just a house but a haven where countless family dinners were held, everyone was welcomed with open arms, and a lifetime of cherished memories were made. Carol was happiest in the summer, hosting family get-togethers, dancing on the deck to old country music, grandchildren splashing around the pool, dogs running in the grass, surrounded by beautiful flowers.

Carol was passionate about her beliefs and was always fearlessly, unapologetically herself. Family described her as compassionate, welcoming, giving, empathetic, fun-loving, generous, thoughtful, and unconditionally loving. She will be deeply missed, but her impact and legacy will live on through her family.
