Connie Elsie Williams Obituary
The family of Connie Williams of River John are saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, May 23, at the age of 66.
Connie never turned away from a challenge - from driving a school bus to driving oil patch workers or athletes around our province. She worked alongside her husband Grant, from building houses to making jams and jellies with him. She loved the outdoors, loved going on her buggy, mowing the lawn, all with the grandchildren included.
One of her favourite places was the island. She spent a lot of time with family and friends there swimming, kayaking, and fishing – trying to catch the biggest. She loved to travel, and Cuba was her favourite destination. She made so many friends on her travels it would be hard to name them all.
Connie is survived by her husband Grant of 52 years; her son Cory (Ashley) and daughter Lisa (Nathan); mother Maxine; brother Archie (Susan) and sisters Cindy, Wanda, and Joyce (Teddy); brother-in-law Ronald and sister-in-law Louise; grandchildren Jake (Allanah), Dakota (Austin), Jaiden, Ashton, Zoe, Rowan, and Misa; great-grandchildren Jackson and Levi; as well as several nieces and nephews from both sides of the family.
She was predeceased by her father Foster; sister-in-law’s Debbie and Joy; as well as her parents in law Ronald and Winnifred.
We would like to say a special thank you to Jo-anne, as well as Terry Heighton and the rest of the first responders from the River John Fire Department, paramedics, and the RCMP. We would also like to send our appreciation to the Cancer Clinic at the Aberdeen Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the HW Angus Funeral Home. A funeral service for Connie will be held on Monday, June 1, at 11am from the funeral home chapel.
Any donations in memory of Connie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
