John Baptist Cornett, of Stellarton, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, in the Aberdeen Hospital.

Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Frank and Lena (Anderson) Cornett.

John was a lifelong resident of Stellarton.

He is survived by his sisters, Irma (Mike) Slager, Georgina Silver and Beatrice Lockhead, who has been his loving caregiver for the length of his illness and a brother Leonard (Shelley) of Stellarton, Nova Scotia.

John was predeceased by brothers, Bruce, Art, Lloyd, Ronald, Vernon, Peter, Frank and Dorman and sisters, Shirley Shute and Sylvia Silver.

John had a strong giving nature, he would help anybody who needed it. He gave away freely and expected nothing in return. He will be mourned by those who knew him.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation for John will be held on Friday, May 8 from 1-2:45pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 3pm in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton, with Deborah Beck presiding.
