Diana Marion Mannion Obituary
I have had a wonderful life due to some really caring and loving people. My brother Lenny and I were adopted and raised by our aunt and uncle, Mary (Mae) Peebles and Roy (Buck) Davidson. They were a special couple and what a wonderful raising they gave us. They were our “Earth Angels” for sure.
Not to bore you but a little info about me.
I graduated from Stellarton High School in 1964 and went into training at the Aberdeen Hospital to become a Medical Radiation Technologist MRT (R), graduating in 1966. I then worked at the Aberdeen Hospital as an X-RAY technologist for most of my life.
I always had a love of history and foreign cultures, and God allowed me to travel on six different continents, enjoying their scenery, customs, and food. We are blessed to have such a beautiful planet. Crafts were a hobby that I practiced for many years, with art painting being a fascinating pastime. Gardening was also a favorite in the summer, replaced by reading in the winter where a book was never out of reach. Blessed with a lifelong thirst for knowledge, I firmly believed you are never too old to learn.
Zoned out yet? This really is the short version.
After mourning the loss of my first husband, John James McKeigan, in 1989, I met and married Christopher James Mannion in 1994.
During my first marriage, John and I were blessed with two children: our son Michael D. McKeigan (Leigh), Truro and their children Zander, Luke, and Laila, and our daughter Alicia Joy McKeigan, Halifax, and her children Brennen, Jachai, and Damek.
My second marriage gave me two stepsons, Seamus Christopher (Leslie) (North Carolina) and their children Taylor and Ashleigh; Kevin Gerard (Jessica) (Newmarket, ON) and their children Grayson and Fiona.
I would like to send love to four special friends:
Margaret Marcipont (Stellarton) and I have been friends since childhood, more like sisters than friends.
Valerie Roy (Moncton) has been a special friend for 50++ years. A former Vice President for the Atlantic Provinces, Val is one of the most intelligent women I've ever met.
Marvin and Loretta Reynolds for their special care and concern when I was ill.
John and Nelly Smees (Westville) are the best neighbours you could ever find. Buckets of love to John for the constant supply of wonderful homemade breads and too many goodies to mention.
May God bless you always.
It is with great sadness that the family announces Diana's passing on April 23, 2026, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
Diana is survived by her sister Inez Murphy (Augusta); Cathy Dalio (Boston) and Jeannie (Edmonton) who were like sisters to her; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by former husband John J. McKeigan; husband Christopher Mannion; sisters - Agnes White, Josephine MacKay, Mary MacLean, Ruby Cioffi; brothers - Leonard Davidson, Reginald Davidson, Eugene Davidson, and Thomas Davidson.
