Winnifred Jean Williams
The family of Winnifred “Winnie” Jean Williams of the Glen Haven Manor, formerly of Lorne, are saddened to announce her passing on March 24, 2026 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late James MacLean MacKay and Ella Mae Taylor.
Winnie was a resident of Lorne all her life until moving to the Glen Haven Manor 5 years ago. She worked for many years at the Cattle Sale Barn in Truro. She was also a member of St. Columba United Church in Hopewell.
She is survived by her sons Grant (Connie) and Ronald; daughter Louise; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and her sisters-in-law Diane MacKay and Pat MacKay.
Winnie was predeceased by her parents; husband Ronald; daughter Joy; brothers Ernie, Roland, and John MacKay; and sister Dorothy Hornish.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel in Stellarton at 1pm until the time of the funeral at 3pm. Burial will be held in Lorne Cemetery.
Donations in Winnie’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Diabetes Association.
