Dianne Bessie Ross Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce that Dianne Bessie Ross, 82, of Iron Rock, passed away on March 17, 2026. She was the daughter of the late George Neil and Mary Hazel (Arthur) Ross.
After leaving school she worked at A.C. McCullouch Clothing Store before becoming a stay-at-home mom for several years. She later returned to work at Michelin’s Granton Plant from which she retired after over 30 years.
Dianne was a force to be reckoned with, you never had to guess what she was thinking. She was always her happiest when she was outdoors in the fresh air. As a child she was always keen to help her father with farm chores; as she grew older she enjoyed gardening, walking, skiing, and ice skating. She had the best maintained ditch and most beautiful lawn in the county.
When grandchildren started arriving, “Gee’s” Taxi was always gassed up and ready to go. She tried to be there for every milestone in her grandchildren’s lives whenever possible, quietly cheering them on. She also always had a steady supply of cookies at the ready for any occasion.
Dianne is survived by her children Carol Anne Ross, Wendy (Irving) Sharpe, Kevin (Annabel) Ross, and Corrine (Ben) Stevens. She was the proudest grandmother of: Christopher, Zachery, Kelsey (Steven), Jenna (Jon), Dave (Glori), Jeff (Katie), and Olivia. She is also survived by siblings: James (Irene) Ross, Donald Ross, Burton (Grace) Ross, William Ross, Dorothy (Eustace) Reeves, Marilyn Renshaw, Shirley MacConnell, Elaine (Bruce) Lewis, Beverly (Fred) Cameron, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents George and Mary, husband James “Sonny”; brothers Fraser, Carl, Infant brother Clarence; and a sister in infancy. Brothers in law Joe MacConnell, Alan Renshaw, and sisters in law Paulette Ross, and Caroline Ross.
Losing Mom only 10 days after Dad is hard but after almost 63 years together we take comfort knowing that they have now been reunited.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service for Dianne and her husband James “Sonny” will take place in the Spring of 2026 in Bridgeville Cemetery.
Special thanks to the team at Glen Haven Manor for caring for mom for the past several years.
Donations in Dianne’s name may be made to the Bridgeville Cemetery, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
