With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Stephen, who left us suddenly on Feb. 24, 2026.
Stephen was a loving husband to Helen for 40 years, together they built a life filled with love, laughter and unwavering support for one another.
Stephen was a proud and caring father to Jacqueline (Martin) Pitts, Joshua (Amanda) Doucette; Stephen was also a cherished “Grampie” to Sophie and Gabriel; Father figure to Alan Young (Jackie, Haley;) His love and guidance will continue to live on in them all.
Stephen is survived by his mother Carol Doucette and uncle Larry Simpkin; brothers Terry, Kenneth (Barb), Chris; sisters Brenda and Cheryl; many nieces and nephews.
Stephen was predeceased by his father Wilfred Doucette.
Funeral service to be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11 am in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel.
Celebration of life for close family and friends will take place at “His Shop” 2514 Elgin Road, Hopewell at 6 pm Saturday, March 7 to reflect and remember your fondest memories of time spent together.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity or organization that reflects the strength and perseverance with which he lived.
A special Thank-You to Dave Gallant, Rick Foote, Steve Irving and Alan Young who helped the rescue team to take Stephen home.
We will never forget all the kindness from his friends and family members; Helen, Jacqueline, Joshua, Martin, Sophie, Gabriel and Alan.
