It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear, sweet Sam.  Samantha Ashley Buckler was born in Burnaby, British Columbia on December 15, 1992, the youngest child of Alan and Marjorie (Betsina) Buckler, sister of Jeffrey and Stephanie.

In 1995, with her father, Jeff and Stephanie, Sam moved to Nova Scotia, eventually, settling in Durham, where she was soon to meet Margaret and her new extended family, who loved her so very much.

Sam attended school at Pictou Landing First Nation, Saltsprings, West Pictou, NRHS and NSCC. Sam's first job was at McDonald's, moving on to Cineplex and eventually, several restaurants in the area, always greeting everyone with a wonderful smile and great service.

Sam had a love for nature and animals, both wild and domestic and whether they were furry, feathered or scaled, she cared for them all.  She had a great love for giraffes and was privileged to see at least one in her life. Sam loved attending concerts, many in the area, usually with her sister, also traveling to Vancouver to see AC/DC, Los Angeles for Classic West 2017, Montreal to see Taylor Swift and Toronto for Post Malone.

Sam touched many people in her life, both young and old, bringing joy and caring to all; always the girl with the very big heart! 

Sam was predeceased by her mother, Marjorie.  She is survived by her father, Alan, Margaret, brother, Jeff, sister, Stephanie (Bobby) and fur babies; Chandler, who will miss his mommy, Rachel, Dixie and Kicho, as well as uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitation for Sam's family and friends will take place at Angus Funeral Home, 256 King Street, New Glasgow, Friday, February 6, 2026, from 12 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm. 

Cremation has taken place, with a celebration of Sam's life at a later date.
