Valerie Kathleen MacIsaac, born May 10, 1952, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on January 25th in New Glasgow, surrounded by family and friends.
Valerie was known for her quick wit, generous heart, and the joy she found in everyday moments.
Her greatest love in life was her grandchildren — Isabella MacIsaac, Keegan Fanning, Kaius Fanning-MacIsaac, Dean MacIsaac, Gaia MacIsaac, and Rayna Gillis — who brought her endless happiness and purpose.
She was an avid collector of Blue Mountain Pottery, building a treasured collection throughout her life that reflected her appreciation for beauty and the memories attached to each piece.
Valerie also cherished her weekly adventures with friends, moments filled with laughter, teamwork, and the pursuit of life’s little victories.
She is survived by her sons, Corey MacIsaac and Darrell MacIsaac, and Darrell’s wife, Mary McIsaac; her sisters Jeanette, Mary, and Cordis; her brother Joe and his partner June; her grandchild Isabella’s partner, Tyrone; and her close friends Alex, Lisa, Nin, Joanne, and Flo. She was predeceased by her daughter Sonya and her brother Grant, who is survived by his wife Joan.
A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7th, at the Ward One Recreation Centre in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
A private family service will be held on the first day of spring, honoring Valerie’s wishes.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We live on for you and carry on with heavy hearts. Thank you for showing us all what being loved truly felt like. Till we meet again.
