It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Elaine Ferguson Bugden. Elaine was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia on April 17, 1943, the eldest daughter of Kenneth and Elsie (Irving) Ferguson .Elaine and her husband William lived in Little Harbour NS for 42 years before moving to “the cottage” at Indian Harbour Lake, Guysborough County, in 2008. After William’s passing in 2014, Elaine returned to New Glasgow in 2016. She had retired from Scott Paper/Kimberly-Clark in 2001 after 31 years at the mill. Earlier in her career she was employed with the Royal Bank and Hawker Siddeley.Elaine cherished the many friendships she made over the years with the Red Hatters, quilting groups, bridge group, 45’s card group, and with her many friends and neighbours on the lake. It was a difficult decision for her to leave the Lake and the many memories she made there with William. She is survived by her son Kenneth (Karen), daughter Kim (Peter Rose), her four grandchildren Karlee and Spencer Rose, Greg and Daniel Bugden and their mother Denise. She was predeceased by her husband William (2014), her sister Carol Ann Williams (2021), and brother-in-law Donald Williams (2025).
At Elaine’s request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Miss Me-But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of the Master’s plan.
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know.
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds.
Miss me -but let me go.
