In Loving Memory of Our Sweet Mary

Our sweet mom, Mary Cook, passed into heaven surrounded by love, just as she lived – gently, selflessly and with a heart full of care for others. Like a butterfly whose quiet beauty brings comfort simply by being near, she moved through life with a softness that touched everyone around her.

She was kindness in its purest form.  The quiet kind that showed itself in a soft voice, a reassuring touch and a presence that made people feel safe and cared for.  Loving others came naturally to her, and she gave without expectation or condition.

Mom was also strong – stubborn in the best way.  Determined, resilient and unwavering in her love for her family, all while she carried herself with grace through life’s challenges.

Mary was a devoted wife to the love of her life, John for 61 years.  Her heart held her children John, Chris and Darlene and families with a love that endured all things.

When dementia entered her life, it changed many things – but it never took away who she truly was.  Her warmth, sweetness and gentle spirit continued to shine.  As she made Glen Haven Manor her home, she touched the lives of residents and staff. Even in this chapter, her kindness spoke louder than words, and her loving nature left a lasting impression on so many.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we are deeply grateful for the love she gave, the strength she showed and the quiet goodness she brought into the world.  She will live on in every act of kindness and every gentle moment of love – because that is how she lived.

We know she will continue to spread love and joy to those we lost too soon, forever grateful for the love she gave us. Like a butterfly lifted into the light, she is now reunited with her son John and all those she longed to see again.

Forever loved.  Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
