On November 30th 2025, Cindy Lynn Martin of Plymouth, formerly of Stellarton, passed away peacefully at home, as she wanted. She was surrounded by her loving family, her sisters Caroll and Chrystal, her only brother Jim, and beloved dog Pepsi.
Cindy was born February 5th, 1961, the daughter of the late James and Bonnie (MacKay) Baxter. Cindy was a former member of the Stellarton Legion, and the first female Lieutenant of the 374 F/Lt Chisholm Royal Canadian Air Cadets of Stellarton. Her love of people and caring nature led her to work at Glen Haven Manor.
She was predeceased by grandparents Ralph and Florence Martin, and Jean Baxter, brothers-in-law Ralph Martin and Blair MacKinnon, uncle Robin MacKay, and by her husband, the love of her life, Wayne Martin. In 2018, a year after the passing of Wayne, Cindy suffered a stroke, and her health continued to decline in the following years.
Cindy is survived by her sisters Caroll MacKinnon (Doug) and Chrystal Baxter (Richie), brother Jim Baxter, nephews Ryan MacKinnon (Tiffany) and Evan MacKinnon (Kelly), nieces Olivia MacKinnon (Alex) and Brookllyn Hefferman, aunt Linda MacKay and cousins Stacy MacKay, Wendy Verge, Sharon Merrill and Richard Merrill, and godchild Kristen.
Per Cindy’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory can be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA. We would like to thank all the care workers who passed through her doors to help with Cindy’s care. Thank you to lifelong friends Claire, Marlene and Barb.
Those we love never go away, they are in our hearts every day.
