The death of Gloria Elaine Henderson occurred on Monday, November 17th in New Glasgow. She was born on August 4th, 1932 in Halifax, N.S. to the late Herbert and Harriet (Doohan) Mitchell.

She received her early education in Halifax and after graduating from Queen Elizabeth High School attended the VG School of Nursing where she acquired her RN. Gloria and her husband moved to New Glasgow in 1964 where they raised their family. She became quickly involved in her community where she volunteered with her children’s schools, HCRS, Trinity United Church, and the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics.

She was predeceased by her husband, Erland (Hank) Henderson and her sister Shirley Morash.

Surviving are her children Nancy (Bob), Gary (Linda), Kathy (Terry), grandchildren Jared (Brenda), Jenna (Chris), Emily, Jeff (KT), Collin (Amanda), great grandchildren, Charlie, Will, Hank, Addison, Case, Everett, Franklyn, Fitz, Molly, and Lachy, and sister-in-law Isabel Henderson.

There will be no visitation by request. Burial will take place at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
