His professionalism, creativity, and love for the craft earned him deep respect from everyone he worked with.

No matter what life brought his way, he faced it with courage and humor, always finding light and laughter even in the toughest moments. His warmth and positivity touched everyone he met, and he had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved.
He will be forever missed by his parents, Alex and Patricia (Mackintosh) MacInnis; his brothers Bruce (Glynis) and Shannon (Kim); his sisters Kelli (Greg Lannon) and Kimberly (Mark Stanley); and his nieces and nephews Joshua Lannon, Brett Stanley, Hilary MacInnis, Marlon MacInnis, Jacob Lannon, Justin Lannon, Madison Stanley, Steve MacInnis, Amber MacInnis, Nick MacInnis and Reese Stanley! Matthew was also a beloved uncle who cherished every moment spent with his nieces and nephews, sharing laughter, encouragement, and love. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, Especially, his close cousin and dear friend Bruce Mackintosh, and a wide circle of friends and colleagues who were fortunate to share in his life and laughter.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 6 pm - 8 pm at H. C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, where family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share memories of Matthew. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday November 12, at 11 am in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society, or a local hospital dialysis department in Matthew’s memory.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital, with special gratitude to Dr. MacDonald of the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax and Dr. Straub of the Aberdeen Hospital Emergency Department, for their care and compassion. A special thank you as well to the VON nurses and Continuing Care home care staff, who treated Matthew not just as a client, but as a friend. Your kindness and support meant so much to him and to our family.
Matthew’s courage, kindness, and humor will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, his light and love will never fade.
