With deep love and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Gabriel Elisha MacMaster, who passed peacefully with his loving wife Holly by his side on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB.
Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, on October 6, 1987, Gabe left this world far too soon due to complications from his lymphoma diagnosis in late summer. His family and friends are devastated by this unimaginable loss. Though his time with us was heartbreakingly short, his laughter, kindness, and boundless energy will live forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
Growing up on the basketball court and cracking jokes on the playground—and maybe a little too often in class—Gabe’s playful spirit and quick wit made him unforgettable. From his early days at Salt Springs Elementary to West Pictou Middle School and Northumberland Regional High, and later as a student at NSCC, he was known for his easy smile and his uncanny ability to make even the most serious teacher laugh. A natural athlete, Gabe gave 110% to everything he did. Whether on the basketball court or rugby field, he played with heart, determination, and joy. He loved camping, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
After settling in New Brunswick, due to his new position with Emera New Brunswick, Gabe quickly became known at work for his humor, dedication, and the way he could make even a long day brighter. He entertained and inspired his coworkers, always willing to lend a hand and lift spirits, and he was proud to have recently moved into a new role that reflected his strong work ethic and the respect he earned among his team.
Gabe was a deeply loving husband to Holly, his best friend and partner in every sense. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and the small, steady joys of family. A true hands-on dad, Gabe poured his heart into raising Casey, Dana, and Brady, always ready with a joke, a hug, or a project to make their house a home. He was also a proud uncle to his nieces and nephew, reminding them that life doesn’t always need to be so serious.
Gabe had a gift for making friends anywhere he went. Whether close to home or miles away, he could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them smiling. Gabe and Holly have been blessed to be surrounded by an amazing and supportive community—people whose kindness, generosity, and friendship have meant the world to their family during this difficult time.
Gabe will be forever loved and deeply missed by his family, many friends, teammates, coworkers, and all whose lives were brightened by his generous heart and unforgettable laughter. Though the world feels dimmer without him, his light will continue to shine through the love and memories he leaves behind.
