Marlene Elizabeth Fraser Obituary

It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Elizabeth Fraser, age 71, on October 22nd, 2025. Marlene was born on May 5, 1954 to the late Dorothy and Fielding Fraser. She spent happy childhood days growing up in her beloved Sunny Brae.

Marlene will be deeply missed by her sister Carol (George) MacDonald; brother Scott Fraser; and sisters-in-law Cathy Fraser and Evie Fraser. She was a beloved aunt to Brian (Lila) MacDonald, Val (Jim) Spatz, Blair (Lenna) Fraser, Donna (Matt) Fraser, Rob Fraser, Matt (Tania) Fraser, Gayle (Debbie) Tainton, Emily (André) Samson and Heather (Paul) Fraser. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Fraser, and her special friend Joey Aucoin.

Marlene lived an active and joy-filled life.  She dedicated many years to her work at Summer Street Industries. She kept busy with many activities including swimming, visiting the cats at the SPCA, and was involved in the Special Olympics. She was a social butterfly and loved visiting with her countless friends she made throughout the years. Of course, these visits were always better with a cup of tea.

Her love of Tim Hortons—always her “Red One”—and her cherished stuffed bear, Mabel, will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Those closest to Marlene are deeply grateful for the friendship she shared with her roommate, Stacey, and for the compassionate care provided by her wonderful caregivers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26 from 7-9pm at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow on Monday, October 27 at 2pm from the H.W. Angus Chapel. A reception will be held at Summer Street Industries following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marlene’s name may be made to Summer Street Industries or to Highland Community Residential Services.
