George Robert "Geordie" MacDonald Obituary

George (Geordie) Robert MacDonald, age 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 17, 2025.

Geordie is survived by his parents John and Charlotte MacDonald; Brother Joey MacDonald and sister Millicent (Ashley) MacHattie; nieces and nephew; His children, Jordan (Jessica) MacDonald, Evan (Teya) MacDonald, Lily (Tyson) MacDonald and Grace MacDonald. His grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and Emilia MacDonald. They were the light of his life and the legacy he leaves behind.

He was predeceased by his sister Angie (MacDonald) Feit. And grandparents Joe and Margaret MacDonald (Lismore)  and Dan and Harriet MacLeod (Thorburn)

From the time he could walk, Geordie could play just about any sport you put in front of him, but hockey was his greatest love. Wearing #18, he was known for his grit, his heart, and never backing down from a good scrap on the ice — whether at high school hockey games, with the Thorburn Mohawk Jr. C’s, or one of the many teams he proudly played for through the years.

As a teenager, Geordie spent countless hours working hard on the farm, developing the work ethic that followed him throughout his life.

Geordie later worked as a linesman for MT&T, a job that suited his adventurous spirit before life took him out west in search of new opportunities. He ended his working career as an equipment operator with Dexter.

He will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, and his big heart — a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and lived life his own way.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 25 at 11am from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be held in St. Ann's Cemetery, Thorburn.
