Betty Ann Hartling, age 75, of Little Harbour Road, New Glasgow passed away on Tuesday August 26th 2025 at home. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Margaret (Dixon) Hatfield.
Betty was a lifelong resident of New Glasgow. She enjoyed baking, doing crafts and playing bingo with her friends. Family was very important part of Betty’s life.
Surviving are daughters Valerie (Frank) White of Stellarton, Donna Bell (Duncan Ross) of Trenton, Margie (Fred) Forrest of Oxford, Angela (Wayne) Allain of Trenton. A son John Bell (Tina Worth) of Antigonish. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sisters Barbara Purvis of New Glasgow, Beverly (Leonard) Melanson of Foxbrook, Peggy (Ken) Gillis of New Glasgow. A brother Billy (Isabel) Hatfield of Trenton, sister-in-law Linda Hatfield of Stellarton. Several nieces and nephews. Her fur buddy Rooster.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, her first husband John Bell, her second husband John Hartling and a brother Bobby.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Pictou County SPCA.
