Terry Lloyd Manning Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of Terry Lloyd Manning of Hopewell, Pictou County, announces his passing on July 24, 2025, following a short illness. He was 79.

Terry was the beloved husband of Heather, his partner in every sense. They were inseparable, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared purpose.

Born in Hants County, Terry was the son of the late Fred and Bernice Manning. He was the oldest of four brothers and is lovingly remembered by Richard (Wanda), Rodney (Sandy), and Hartford (Karin). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Garnett (Judy) Davison, Wendell (Diane) Davison, Roddy Davison, and sister-in-law Wanda (Dave) Winaut. He will be greatly missed by all his extended family and many long-life friends.

Terry was a devoted father to Aaron (Janice), Tiffany (Ian) and Ashlee (Amber), and a proud grandfather to Broc and Tyson Manning; Katie, Alex, and Will MacNeil; and Garrett and Mitchell Manning. He was endlessly proud of their accomplishments and took great joy in supporting them in their many activities.

An electrician by trade, Terry started his working career with CN before finishing his working life with Public Works of Canada as a building supervisor. He was a true Jack of All Trades, always willing to help others — whether family, friends, or neighbours. He loved sharing the fruits of his garden with others and took pride in cultivating both beauty and bounty in his surroundings.

Terry was a member of the Western Star Masonic Lodge #50 and a faithful member of St. Columba United Church.

His mischievous grin and signature line — “I only tease the ones I love” — will be remembered by all who knew him. His love for his family was the constant thread through everything he did.

Arrangements are under the direction of H. W. Angus Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30 2-4 and 7-9. Service will be held at St. Columba United Church in Hopewell at 10 am on July 31.

Family flowers only. Donations may be made to St. Columba Church.
