Kevin Peter “Pack Rat" Pelerine, age 65 of New Glasgow passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2025 at home. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Henry and Kathleen (Goodyear) Pelerine.

Kevin was a resident of New Glasgow all his life.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. He graduated from New Glasgow High and had worked at New Glasgow Metals and MacGregors Custom welding for many years.

Kevin was an avid hockey player and was best known for his goaltending with the New Glasgow Bombers, he was also an excellent baseball player, playing for many years. He was great hockey coach and was proud to coach his daughter Carli with the New Glasgow Bombers.

Kevin loved his pets Boss, Ruby, Zeus and Jack. Since he retired, he became known as the neighborhood lawncare and snow removal man.

He was most proud of being PopPop to Piper and Jackson who made him grin endlessly.

Kevin is survived by his wife Shirley (Patterson) Pelerine, son Kevin Jeffery, daughter Carli, cherished grandchildren Piper and Jackson and their father Ryan; brothers Henry Jr., New Glasgow; Wayne (Toni), New Glasgow; sisters Eleanor Woodgate, New Glasgow; Ruth Link, Pictou; sister-in-law Joan (David) Murray, Fraser's Mountain; brothers-in-law Don (Deanna), Todd (Evelyn), David (Cheryl Patterson, all of Alberta; several aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Paul Douglas, John Gordon Harried “Snorky” sister Anna Marie Campbell and brother-in-law Lloyd Campbell.

Visitation will be held in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 15. Funeral mass will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, July 16 in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father MacDonald Ibeh officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
