Doris Isabel (Fraser) Hiltz age 93 of Little Harbour, N.S. passed away on Friday May 30th,2025 in the Aberdeen Hospital , New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late John Simon and Gladys (Huggan) Fraser.
Doris was a member of the Little Harbour Presbyterian Church. She had obtained a B.Sc and worked as a chemist for many years with the Department of Fisheries and also had a B.Ed and had taught school at Horton High in Wolfville, NS.
Doris was very musical and played in the Pictou County Orchestra, she also played in a string quartet and a string trio. She volunteered for many years with the Pictou County Music Festival.
She is survived by a sister-in-law Rhoda Jean Fraser; nephews Graham Fraser and his daughter Sophie Tang Fraser-Goulet; Alex (Lisa Ann) Fraser and their daughters Zoey Fraser and Naomi Fraser; sister-in-law Joan (Don) Beattie; brothers-in-law Wayne (Muriel) Hiltz; Jack Nielsen, niece Angela Cormier and her daughters Madeline and Olivia Cormier; niece Annette Little; special friends Faye Fraser and Linda Fraser. Special thanks to her caregivers Elizabeth , Monica and Rachael for their care and concern for Doris .
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond S. Hiltz; brother Barrie H. Fraser; sisters-in-law Brenda Himmelman and Bette Anne Nielsen.
Cremation has taken place. A reception and Celebration of Doris’s life will be held in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from 1 P.M. -2:30 P.M. on June 10th. A public graveside service will follow at 3 P.M. in the Lorne Street Cemetery with Rev Dr. Joon Ki Kim officiating.
