Smith, Eugene Randall 59 of Alma, NS formally of Lantz Siding N.S.

Passed on May 10th, 2025, at Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow after a hard battle of Esophageal Cancer.

Eugene is survived by his children and Grandchildren.

Randall Smith; Children, Oliver, Ember-Rose, Weston and Penelope of Elliot Lake, Ont.

Nicholas Smith (Megan); Children, Savanna, Brylee, and Mackenzie of Stellarton, NS.

Jeff Kennedy (Jenna); Child; Naleah of Chester, NS.

He was Predeceased by his adoptive parents Beldon and June Preeper; his foster parents Wilfred and Lois; and his biological parents; Allan Rogers and Estella Smith-Rogers.

Eugene has many “brothers and sisters” from these three families that helped shaped his life; all of whom he loved dearly and spoke highly of.

He spent a majority of his career working in Lumber Mills, starting at ELCO, Elmsdale N.S and finishing at Groupe Savoy in Westville, NS

He especially enjoyed fishing among his other hobbies including taking pictures, hiking and going on road trips.

Eugene made many friends in his short life and was also known as Malcolm (his ears) or Willie (his one eye).

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to VON and Nurses in Palliative Care for their continuing care in Eugene’s final journey. Thank You!

As per Eugene’s wishes; cremation has taken place. Burial and a celebration of his life will take place later this summer, allowing for family to attend.
