Jean Elizabeth Spencer, 86, of Abercrombie, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.

Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late John Dan and Lena Belle (Richards) Pelerine. She has been a resident of Abercrombie for the past 17 years. Prior to that she resided in the North End of New Glasgow. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. She was a stay at home mother who would work at the layaway desk at Woolworths during the busy Christmas Season.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Jack Spencer and her brothers Howard, Gilbert and David. She is survived by her daughter Sherry (John) Adamson, her sister Doris MacLean and brothers Bill and Wayne and several nieces and nephews.

Private family funeral will be held at H.W. Angus Funeral Home on Monday, April 21. At her request there will be no visitation. Burial of her cremains will be at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow. Donations may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.
